aimsweb ® Behavior Introductory Open Workshop (1-day)

Universal Screening through Progress Monitoring of Student Behavior (Tiers 1-3+):

This workshop is designed for individuals and organizations that are fluent in the setup, management, and use of the aimsweb ® system, but new to aimsweb ® Behavior. Participants will receive introductory training by a Certified aimsweb ® Trainer (CAT) on Universal Screening through Action-Planning, Goal-Setting and Frequent Progress Monitoring solely for aimsweb ® Behavior. Instruction will be provided on the administration and interpretation of aimsweb ®’s Behavior assessments. Participants will learn critical skills for goal-setting, using data to inform instruction, data interpretation, software use, and monitoring progress of students needing additional support.

1-day workshop + 1 hour webinar/phone consultation $2500

Who should attend:

Though anyone is welcome to attend, this session is specifically designed for Local aimsweb ® Managers and/or attendees with backgrounds in assessment and student behavior support. These individuals may include, but are not limited to: Behavior specialists, school psychologists, social workers, counselors, administration, and/or educators familiar with basic constructs of student behavior and social skill development. It is strongly recommended that at least one school or district-level administrator attend the full workshop.

From Screening to Intervening: Why assess behavior?

Participants will learn how the screening, early identification, intervention, and progress monitoring of students’ behavior and social skills leads is a proactive means of increasing academic outcomes, increasing pro-social behaviors (while decreasing undesirable behaviors) for students. This module will also explore how behavior and social-skill assessment may be used proactively to change how schools manage and support a positive social and behavioral climate. Lastly, participants will learn how the data provided by screening and monitoring student behaviors can greatly assist in measuring the efficacy of behavior-focused instructional programs.

How aimsweb ® Behavior Measures Work: Universal Screening
This module explores the measures aimsweb ® offers for behavior, as well as the constructs behind them, technical properties, and examples of when to use each measure for Universal Screening. Via a multi-tiered framework, learners will understand how to administer, score, and interpret Universal Screening data for collecting baseline, mid-year, and end-of-year data, conducting basic program evaluation, and identifying students at-risk for behavioral and/or social-skill difficulties. Lastly, information will be shared on how aimsweb ® Behavior fits within a variety of curricula designed to promote positive behavior and social outcomes.

How aimsweb ® Behavior Measures Work: Action Planning

First, participants will learn how aimsweb ® utilizes student data to generate “flags” that assist users in targeting specific behaviors that may need modification. Participants will then be taught how to use this information to set up action plans focused on any flagged or other identified behaviors and skills that need to be modified. Lastly, participants will be introduced to a library of intervention options that may be selected for use with aimsweb ® Behavior, and/or utilize their own customized interventions within the system.

How aimsweb ® Behavior Measures Work: Progress Monitoring
This module will walk users through the next key component of aimsweb ® Behavior—Progress Monitoring. Learners will learn how to set goals, conduct progress monitoring data for aimsweb ® Behavior, and interpret results via various aimsweb ® reports.

What does a Response to Intervention/Instruction for behavior look like?

Take a walk through a case study within aimsweb ® Behavior and see how a student’s instruction and behavior support is provided within a multi-tiered model. We will cover the students’ instruction, universal screening, progress monitoring, and follow up with points to discuss within data teams. Additional insightful information will be provided as to whether parental consent may be needed, along with other key pieces of information that are critical in making informed decisions when implementing RTI for behavior.

Summary and Next Steps:

What skills and preparation does my organization need to implement aimsweb ® Behavior?
Your instructor will assist you in “the next steps” needed for implementation of aimsweb ® Behavior. This will include suggestions for how to weave aimsweb ® Behavior into an RTI model your organization may already have in place, or starting from scratch. You will also be provided with planning tips, suggestions for key discussions to have within your organization, recommendations for further training and professional development, obtaining the involvement of key stakeholders, and communicating how aimsweb ® Behavior is truly for every educator in your buildings–not just the psychologists, behavior specialists, and social workers.
