Testimonials

"Last spring, we decided to purchase AIMSweb to be used at our middle school on a limited basis starting this school year. We utilized AIMSweb probes for grouping and doing progress monitoring with our students who receive resource room instruction in reading. The intervention specialists administered the Reading-CBM (Oral Reading Fluency) weekly, and the Maze-CBM (Reading Comprehension) once per month. We also did benchmarking (three times in the year) for all of our sixth grade students using R-CBM and Maze.

Furthermore, AIMSweb RCBM probes were used to monitor the progress of students referred for child study/intervention assistance team (if reading was the presenting problem). Finally, the probes were utilized by the teacher doing supplemental tutoring for students at-risk (based on not demonstrating proficiency on last year's Ohio Achievement Test). You can really get your money's worth out of this program!

Without doubt, AIMSweb has been a great benefit to the intervention specialists. They found it was easy to administer and teachers and students alike were interested and reinforced by the progress shown on the graphs General education teachers seemed to appreciate having data, aside from last year's OAT score, to allow low readers to access at-risk tutoring.

Our AIMSweb group is strongly considering using the writing probes next year, as well as continuing the reading measures. We have found AIMSweb useful, easy to use and teacher friendly."

"When our district began developing our RTI plan, AIMSweb was ranked #1 in the research material we reviewed. So the choice was an easy one, and AIMSweb has delivered as advertised. The high level of user support, the comprehensive training materials, and the flexible data management system have all made start-up and maintenance a manageable and even enjoyable process! Now as we expand beyond targeted RTI, we are exploring ways to use the AIMSweb benchmark function in our district-wide progress monitoring. Doing so creates a seamless system of longitudinal data for students entering the RTI process. AIMSweb has been a functional tool to help our staff focus on teaching, learning and problem solving in new and exciting ways!"

"Thanks to AIMSweb we have an excellent assortment of tools that has increased our capacity to monitor student progress in special education classrooms within the Pittsburgh Public Schools. In addition to an excellent selection of assessment and graphing tools that provide invaluable data for instructional decision making, AIMSweb software adds management functionality that has greatly enhanced special education administrative accountability capabilities in our large urban school district."

"The AIMSweb probes give information about the students' basic literacy skills. No child is left unnoticed, and if intervention is needed, I have the information to do so. Even when intervention is not needed, I can monitor all students to assure progress is continuing. It is the most practical assessment tool I've ever used to generate instructional changes as needed."

"Chattanooga Middle Schools are very much engaged in CBM and AIMSweb at this time. I have been overwhelmed by the excitement shown by administrators when they were able to access the table that shows where each child is functioning. If the data is used as it was intended, then great improvements can be made and seen."

"AIMSweb was selected because it is the only assessment/improvement system that provides a direct, frequent and continuous data base of reading performance utilizing a web based management and reporting system. It's Standard Reading Assessment Passages, web based software, training materials and online support provides schools a comprehensive and powerful tool for reading improvement."

"The Standard Reading Assessment Passages and the AIMSweb Improvement Systems bring a scientifically based Curriculum Based Measurement (CBM) assessment system, not just a test, to our products. We believe that a frequent, direct, and continuous reading and early literacy measurement system is in keeping with Hampton-Brown's goal of improving education for all students. Hampton-Brown is excited to bring AIMSweb's Standard Reading Assessment Passages to schools in the form of Grade Level booklets and to incorporate the passages into assessment materials that accompany our instructional programs."

"I wanted to let you know that I will be offering the AIMSweb website as a resource for educators across Montana who will be attending a workshop I am presenting as part of their professional development training through the Montana Office of Public Instruction. The workshop is about school-based intervention based on proactive prevention/intervention best practice and the mandates of NCLB and the upcoming IDEA reauthorization (change in eligibility and front loading the system with evaluation). Of course CBM is a cornerstone for progress monitoring.....precision measurement for treatment validity....thus, AIMSweb will be on the list of resources."
